IACIS Pacific 2005 Participant Information

Conference Location and Hotel Reservations IACIS Pacific 2005 was held at the Grand Hotel Taipei (www.grand-hotel.org). Conference attendees were offered a room rate for a Superior Room or Deluxe Room, inclusive of buffet breakfast, daily newspaper, and daily maid gratuities.
Taipei Tourist Information Program Chair Dr. Binshan Lin received so much email requesting Taipei tourist information that he dedicated a considerable amount of time searching for some useful information. Although he offered a disclaimer that his opinions were naturally biased and that he could not answer all questions, Dr. Lin did an excellent job of preparing a “Taipei Tourist Information” guide for participants' reference. Enjoy!
Conference Registration To register for the conference, complete the Registration Form and return it with a check in US dollars or credit card payment (VISA or MasterCard only) to Dr. Susan Haugen, IACIS Treasurer, at the address provided on the registration form. If paying by credit card, you can either return the completed form via an E-mail attachment to shaugen@uwec.edu or FAX the registration form to 715-836-3582. Registration fees include a copy of IACIS Pacific 2005Conference Proceedings (CD publication), IACIS membership for the calendar year 2005, and participation in all IACIS-sponsored conference activities such as the reception, Chinese banquet night, business luncheons, and coffee breaks. Reduced registration rates (as indicated on the registration form) are available for full-time students and retired individuals. IACIS policy requires one unique author to be registered for each paper accepted for presentation and publication. If you are an author or co-author on more then one accepted paper, each paper must have one unique author registration to be accepted for conference presentation and publication. If multiple, same-single-author papers are submitted and accepted, only one will be scheduled for conference presentation and publication. The registration deadline is March 1, 2005. Failure to register will result in exclusion from IACIS Pacific 2005 Proceedings and the Conference Program.
Conference Presentation Equipment This is the conference presentation equipment policy as formulated by the officers of IACIS. It is based on our experiences with prior conferences of what has worked best for us. Each session room will be equipped with a computer projector and a screen. Participants are required to use PowerPoint files in making their presentations. You will need to include your equipment setup time as a part of the time allocated for your presentation. Therefore, for a 20 minute presentation, if you require 5 minutes to setup your special equipment, you would have only 15 minutes remaining for your actual presentation. We realize this may represent an inconvenience for some participants. However, our evaluation is that this will work best for the overall interests of all participants. Your cooperation with these arrangements is most appreciated.
