Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Submissions

2008 Conference Theme

The theme of the 48th Annual IACIS Fall Conference is “Synchronizing your Knowledge.” Information systems form the architecture for data, information and knowledge management. The challenge for both academia and industry is to move beyond managing data, information and knowledge to sharing and synchronizing knowledge (both explicit and implicit) at all levels within and among departments and organizations. The implications of this challenge permeate the very core of lesson/curriculum development and academia-business relations in academia to socio-technical systems and vendor relations in business. Papers covering related academic and technical issues are also encouraged.

The 48th Annual IACIS Fall Conference focuses on the effective synchronization of knowledge in both academia and business to produce maximum value. You are invited to share your theme or other relevant IS and IT research with the professionals attending and presenting papers at the 48th Annual IACIS Fall Conference.

What to Submit

  • Full pedagogy/research papers (including work in progress)
  • Paper abstracts (including workshop proposals)
  • Panel presentation proposals
  • Round-table discussion proposals

All complete paper submissions are double-blind refereed. Papers accepted in the review process will be published in Issues in Information Systems. IIS will be published in CD-ROM format starting 2008. Abstracts, along with proposals for proposals for panels and round-tables, are reviewed and (if accepted) will be published in the conference program and proceedings. Submit only unpublished, original works. Proposals for workshops, panel presentations, and round table discussions should provide a general overview of the session's objectives and activities.

IACIS policy requires one unique author to be registered for each paper accepted for presentation and publication. If you are an author or co-author on more then one accepted paper, each paper must have one unique author registration to be accepted for conference presentation and publication. If multiple, same-single-author papers are submitted and accepted, only one will be scheduled for conference presentation and publication.
